thankful for
1) relatively healthy teeth.
this is considering that I had been avoiding the dentist
for a long time.
had a checkup/cleaning,
and it seems I do have one cavity,
but nothing too serious.
the dentist in charge was good at what he does.
not in procedural skills,
as all dentists should be good in that part,
but in dealing with patients.
his manner of talking
made me comfortable--
if he had told me that I had cancer and only four months to live,
I would have taken it well and said "ah, I'll do what I can with four months"
2) visiting friends.
Ed's in town for the long weekend,
and the Michigan guys gathered once again.
second-hand smoking and all.
doesn't change.
Humphrey's coming tomorrow.
along with church, it's going to be a packed weekend.
