Psalm 20

morning service message, relevant with what I have been reading in Deuteronomy:

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.

May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.

May he remember all your sacrifices
    and accept your burnt offerings.

May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.

May we shout for joy over your victory
and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the Lord grant all your requests.

Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.

He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.

Lord, give victory to the king!
    Answer us when we call!

parent's day

I had sent my parents a Parent's Day (5/8) card,

a week before so that it may arrive to them at a reasonable time.

I bought a Mother's Day card,

as Parent's Day was not observed here,

and wrote "& father" as close in size and style as I can wherever "mother" was written.

wrote a short message too.

it's actually the first time sending them a Parent's Day card.

it won't be the last; they deserve so much.

bug

our team is to release our software update tomorrow,

but as the end of the day approaches I am told that one of the code that I programmed is buggy:

there's an error.

when I confirmed that this is true,

and that it's not a small one,

the thought of having to change a big part of code,

test it through by myself,

then get it confirmed with the testers,

a day before it is to be released...

annoyance that I might have to stay late,

a bit of fear that I won't be able to get it fixed by tomorrow,

frustration that the bug wasn't given to me earlier (despite it really being my fault for the mistake)

just started sinking in,

but then I saw the time--

5:55.

still playing that "clock game,"

prayed for composure along with the things I pray for continuously,

and right now,

I think it's going to be all right.

on crossing the jordan

"You have seen with your own eyes all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings.
The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms over there where you are going.
Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you." (Deut. 3:21b-22)

in every uncertainty that we cross over to,

our Father fights for us.

replay

people should sometimes

take some time and listen to what they say,

repeat the things that they're planning to say before they say it if it helps.

but then,

I guess it might not matter if what they're saying is totally fine in their ears..
